creative projects

Science and art both require curiosity, observation, and a strong sense of beauty. I pursue a mix of mediums: creative writing, poetry, graphic design, watercolour, calligraphy, and some light dabbling in journalism.

A major goal of my dissertation is to have each chapter published by a peer-reviewed scientific paper in addition to a more public-facing news outlet. This means my science is accessible for all people, not just academics.

visual art

I started taking art more seriously in early adolescence, rapidly developing a graphic design portfolio spanning everything from website design, wedding invitations, gravestones, and album covers.

An avid museum goer, mural appreciator, calligrapher, and novice watercolour painter, much of my scientific work integrates the arts in many different ways.

As of yet, I haven’t integrated my visual arts portfolio into my website, but stay tuned: maybe in another 3-5 business years!
